Suppose an NPC dies in a town that has access to clerics of a high enough degree, and the family provides the essential material element. In that case, I could see the church of some Good deity providing the spell casting services for free, mostly if the NPC was a part of the church and tithed appropriately. The church may also provide the diamonds when the NPC’s household pays the gold to get this. This kind of church could stockpile diamonds just because of this.
Perhaps most aristocrats have at least one piece of jewelry with a 300 gp diamond inside and traveling with a cleric of 5th level that’s revivify prepared in case there is a fatal accident or assassination.
The church might also bill a”casting fee” for part of the congregation, but I would cap that in a fraction of (spell level2 x 10), or 250 gp for raise dead. Again, this is if the NPC provided their material component or paid the church for theirs.
How easy to find a person to perform the spell?
That all depends on your campaign and place. As DM, you need to decide on things like church structure. What level is the large cleric of the church? Which level would be her subordinates? What degree would you need to be before the church permits you to conduct your temple in a smaller town? In a town?
And then work out the same to get Paladin orders. Druid circles. Bardic schools.
Any stigmas? Spiritual conflicts?
