When you throw the eldritch blast, add your Charisma modifier to the damage it deals on a hit.
So under the Warlock Invocations segment, you can fortify Eldritch Blast to add your charisma modifier to the damage of 1d10, which is excellent at reduced levels.

On a hit, the target requires ldlO force harm. So does each beam in Agonizing Blast 5e include the charisma bonus?

Eldritch blast 5e may be nice, but it might take a lot of time to score a hit against an AC 21 paladin with a shield of religion and greater invisibility on them.
Just have a lot of hit points. Most higher CR monsters do, even with two or three eldritch blasters per assault. It can have a long time to burst your something down with 150hp. Giants, dragons, or lots of ogres can quickly require better strategies like slowing and incapacitating them.
Plenty of critters. One hundred dire rats, 40 orcs, etc. could take a long time to fall with just eldritch burst 5e.
Just gang up on the warlock.
Warlocks typically do not have effective defenses or hit points, so only having all the enemy ranges goes after the warlock. A ranger, set of archers, enemy caster (magical missiles and fireballs), yet another warlock, etc. targeting the PC will quickly induce a change of tactics.
Have non-lethal combat or one where magic is not allowed. A pub brawl, a need to keep somebody alive, a stealth mission (where sounds of casting may cause difficulties ), or even a city controls offensive magic.
It should not be the goal of a DM to battle any particular ability or counter it.
How does Agonizing burst 5e simplify Erdrich burst 5e?
Agonizing burst 5e simplifies Erdrich’s burst 5e so that the warlock’s charisma penetrates to their damage. The simple way to challenge them would be to change the AC or add more hit points to the monsters to take more rounds to die. That may make it more challenging for the other players, not a super dynamic fight.
To challenge your warlock player, you might have more critters. Eldritch burst can hit several targets, though at greater levels. So it would end up being a lot of monsters. Again, based on your party, that could be unjust.
The best thing about enjoying a tabletop RPG is you may have other kinds of challenges that aren’t combat-related. A warlock consistently has a patron. Have this patron require things of the warlock that go contrary to the party objectives.
If the party is attempting to kill a monster, the patron wants the beast alive. The party is trying to convince the noble of land to join the fight against a higher foe. The patron desires the queen to have another demon spawn of the patron. If the warlock has a tragic backstory, they need to perpetuate that tragedy on others. Lastly, if a warlock has chosen to use a patron, marked clearly. They’ve either a dark mark, quite visible aura, or enormous flaw due to this pact.
There are a lot of strings that you could pull to produce a game challenging for a warlock or any player. Combat is merely some of the games.
Why can you single out Agonizing Blast 5e?
Why can you single out Agonizing Blast 5e? How is that any different than a fighter using a ranged weapon? A very longbow with a similar dex has the same degree of damage and a better range. Better if you choose Archery fighting mode and can use feats like Sharp Shooter. Or a ranger with a volley, a magician or sorcerer with multiple fireballs, etc…
Overpowered Warlocks! Is it true?
They vastly worsen spell choice, a great deal more limited spells per encounter than other spell casters, etc..
But if you add Repelling Blast, Eldritch Blast, and Lance of Lethargy, they are pretty technical. However, they’ve used three invocations (almost possess their requests).
They get powerful, but still not overpowered. It would be best to compare that versus other classes with a third of their skills (plus armor, hit points, etc.).
Against one enemy, the enemy needs to dash in. It May require a couple of rounds, but the warlock is not more damage than most other courses can dish out if they specialize. Even more, animals with lower CR compared to the warlock and can quickly get swarmed. Like most caster forms, a concealed enemy begins close and can easily take on a warlock.
A warlock with Eldritch Blast 5e. Is it manageable?
Same with multiple archers. There are hundreds of everyday encounters a warlock with Eldritch Blast 5e can’t manage. Like other technical characters, a couple can handle their CR evaluation by using spells and EB.
Ambushes. Have the enemy get up close and personal, real quickly. Have enemies that harry the celebration, attacking fast but retreating until they take an excessive amount of damage. Use another Agonizer lock contrary to them. Or a sniper- which can be fun.
Just remember not always to aim the warlock. If it builds nicely, no one gets punished for it. So allow the Warlock glow in some encounters, but make sure other individuals shine in others.
Also, there’s not anything more fun than a Countermonger on the other group (a magician (abjurer) who just ever Counterspells and Shields). It can destroy certain warlock assembles, particularly Coffeelocks.
It depends on what type of challenge you’re looking to tackle. Do you want to earn the warlock have to try something else? Or make it a tough fight. I’m afraid I have to disagree with the Blaster Warlock being OP. A longbow fighter or ranger has a comparable selection and damage output plus much better AC.
An excellent, challenging fight would be an archer or warlock. It urges if you proceed, archer uses the arcane archer or Why can you single out Agonizing Blast?. Both have an exciting bag of tips. More HP will also make it more challenging. A brooch of shielding is also a great item to give another side as it is not a balance dilemma if the PC does it.
If you want to make the warlock have to do something aside from blast, you have to get him in melee, where he is at a disadvantage to burst. Similarly, fog/mist, cover and they will make foes hard/impossible to strike.
Warlocks are going to take the agonizing blast 5e eldritch invocation. All it does is add the warlock’s Charisma modifier to the damage of the eldritch blast. That isn’t just an unbalancing choice.
You challenge the warlock by presuming the warlock will utilize that cantrip at every chance, and it’ll deal a little more damage if it strikes.
I don’t see any alterations in encounter design that are merited.
The same way that you would challenge many ranged attackers. Cover, immunity, immunity, auto countering, freedom, and eyesight. Fight with a burrowing badger that strikes the player from underneath like a land shark.
