How does critical focus work in Pathfinder Kingmaker?
Critical Focus is an excellent Feat in Pathfinder Kingmaker. Feats can give your character various bonuses or allow them to perform all sorts of actions. It provides a +4 bonus on attack rolls made to confirm critical hits.
In Pathfinder 1st Edition, a natural 20 on an attack roll isn’t automatically a critical hit. You have to confirm the critical hit first.
Whenever you roll an attack, and the unmodified die roll falls within your weapon’s critical threat range (usually 20, but sometimes lower), you must obtain a second attack roll using the same attack bonus and modifiers to “confirm” the critical hit. If that double attack roll also hits, you receive a critical hit and increase your damage appropriately. Suppose it doesn’t. The attack is a normal hit and doesn’t deal extra damage). It gives you a bonus to the attack roll made to confirm you are a critical hit, but not to other attack rolls.
