Boblin the Goblin in dnd
Boblin the Goblin is a character based on a Dungeons & Dragons TM outside community joke. In the year 2019, Boblin was born on April 28th (his birthday!). His first appearance was in “Impromptu NPCs,” a short comic inspired by the joke that in D&D, the cuter, sillier, improvised, goofier, and especially unplanned of the non-playable characters, also known as NPCs, will always gravitate to them. In that comic, Boblin was intended to be a one-off joke, as was the plan for the design of subsequent Goblins in Bun Boi’s recurring comic series.
Even though the character was originally supposed to die in a bonus panel to indicate that PCs may become unduly attached to the concept of loveable NPCs, it was a cute, quirky, and enjoyable design for a monster that had caught Bun Boi’s visual style quite well. Not only did Boblin earn a lot of popularity on Instagram and /r/DnD that day, but he also started appearing in memes and even got his own subreddit without Bun Boi’s involvement. He progressed from being a frivolous throwaway gag to being the Dungeons and Dragons character that players were drawn to because he was adorable, humorous, impromptu, foolish, and above all, unplanned.
Boblin then became the principal “Easter Egg” in all of my comics, with an appearance of Boblin hiding in every one of them. But, more importantly, a storey for Boblin began to form… a Boblin’s Tale, if you will. The goal was to invite readers who were deeply interested to start putting the puzzle pieces together by hiding hints of Boblin having a family, a prophecy about Boblin, and other small Easter eggs that didn’t match the usual references to pop culture, memes, and even things in Bun Boi’s personal life in the Easter Eggs.
A Boblin’s Tale centers around Boblin:
A tiny Goblin whose town is only a distant memory to anyone who can recall it. His storey will begin at the very beginning of his life, with an examination of what Goblin life is like for such a diminutive and despised creature in a world that regards Goblins as a pest and a threat. No one knows where Goblins come from, but most people agree that they’re a pain; they’re nasty thieves who only care about what’s in front of them.
Boblin, on the other hand, is unique. Boblin doesn’t see the value in harming others; in fact, Boblin would rather give what little he has than take from someone who has a lot. A Boblin’s Tale tells the storey of Boblin’s much elder brother Hoblin, who sends him a prophecy. Goblins expect a monarch to govern over everyone, whereas tall folk (as Goblins refer to them) hope for a ruler who will unify all people, regardless of who they are or where they come from. Boblin, bound in a web of expectations, wonders aloud, “Can a Goblin be the one who brings everyone together?”
Without amazing individuals like you, who not only read all of this information but also consider funding an attempt that started as a charming meme about a tabletop RPG character, this project would not be possible. This would not have been practicable or even possible without such a large following and demand for Boblin content. Thank you one more. Thank you for looking for easter eggs in comics, for reading this and thoughtfully considering supporting this kickstarter, and for enjoying Boblin.
Bun Boi is currently working on this project alone, with some volunteer assistance. The goal would be to find more people to work alongside Bun Boi on the kickstarter’s development, distribution, and promotion, as well as the graphic novel’s release, so that everything runs well. This is Bun Boi Arts’ first Kickstarter, and it’s a large effort, but one that’s both thrilling and exciting.
While I appreciate everyone’s help in getting things here, I wanted to explain why this is so important to me. This project is the first step toward a lifelong career in the arts and role-playing game community. After a rough year, I decided to start Bun Boi Arts the day after my birthday and set a one-year target of 1000 followers across all platforms, including Reddit, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Not only was that objective shattered in such a short amount of time, but the outpouring of positivity and support that followed was incredible.
Boblin is a beloved character of mine, and I hope he is warmly received as we embark on this big journey into the unknown. Thank you for every meme, remark, share, and addition to this ever-expanding community. Boblin is more than just a typical Goblin; he represents every character who has diverted us on our own trip, where we have taken a moment to just laugh and appreciate life’s spontaneity. I hope this effort succeeds and becomes the first of many.

When goods are dispersed, all items that need to be physically transported will be an additional fee. Because the items will be shipped from Canada, check the shipping costs in your area to see if they are prohibitively expensive. By December 1st, 2020, the goal is to have everything distributed both digitally and physically. The only risk that has been identified is that customs will hold anything delivered, causing a delay.
All delays, updates, and other information will be communicated via Kickstarter, email, and Twitter. The idea is to retain communication on relatively open channels, as openness is crucial when putting together a crowd-funded project.
Terms for Goblinized, Hidden Easter Eggs, and other creations: all creations must be approved by Bun Boi and must not infringe on the copyright or works of others. Any material must be owned by the sender, and all communications must be 1-2 lines long (maximum of 30 characters) and free of profanity or obscene images. Bun Boi reserves the right to deny any obscene or inappropriate Easter Egg imagery. Bun Boi will decide on all appearances and Easter Egg placement in the final copy.
In addition, all Goblinized, Hidden Easter egg, and other recipients will receive a survey in which they can upload photos, explain their Goblin, and so on. A second survey regarding sizing, shipping parameters, and other details will be addressed to all beneficiaries prior to distribution. If you do not complete this survey within 6 months of receiving it, you will be unable to get any incentives.
