Battle
The Ten Commandments are taking over the Kingdom of Liones. They had taken power after Meliodas’ defeat one month earlier. The Holy Knights were deployed to defend the kingdom but are forced to retreat due to Estarossa’s Commandment. The demon pitied the Holy Knights, declaring that he will save them from their misery. As he said this, Escanor appears to help his knights, and he steps up to fight unaffected. Estarossa surprised questions why Escanor’s Commandment doesn’t apply to him. Escanor responds that he has no hatred for those below him but only pity. Their showdown ensues. Estarossa, facing off against each other, concludes Escanor must be the one who defeated Galand and nearly killed Melascula. Escanor cautions Estarossa not to hate him because Estarossa would be affected by his Commandment. Estarossa cuts Escanor in the upper back as they have a good-natured, lighthearted laugh. Estarossa then punches Escanor down and launches him through the elevated ground. Estarossa quickly kicks Escanor up to the surface, making it seem like Estarossa is a formidable opponent.
Estarossa is moving in for another attack when suddenly he sees that the “sun”, which is Escanor, comes towards him. He blocks the attack, but suddenly, while boasting, he becomes dizzy and falls on his knees. Estarossa’s attack is shocking to the other Commandments, who are stunned that Estarossa was defeated by a blowup he received with his guard up. However, Esstarossa is thrilled at the prospect of facing someone against whom he can go all-out and summons a sword.
Escanor comments on Estarossa’s presumptuous demeanour and seems to strike him with Rhitta only for him to gush in blood. The Holy Knights are stunned, but Gilthunder and Ban realize Meliodas’s Power with a slight twist. Estarossa explains the Full Counter power that allows him to reflect any physical attack up to twice its original strength. Escanor says that this is why he feels pain. Estarossa jokes about how arrogant Escanor is. Estarossa questions Escanor about his name, and Escanor responds by asking him to recall it before he passes away. Escanor says that Estarossa is taking his fight seriously and will respect him and do the same. He then asks for his opponent not to die immediately and makes a miniature sun.
Estarossa questions Escanor about his intentions. He claims that unleashing this much power in the area will kill everyone he is protecting. We see the Holy Knights armor melt due to the extreme heat. Escanor asks Ban whether Lake Penace is near. After receiving confirmation, he sends Estarossa a long way with his attack, Cruel Sun. While riding the Sun like a chariot, Escanor reiterates his hope that his opponent will not die too soon. Estarossa is then sent crashing into the lake by his collaborative effort to jump up and throw the Cruel Sun at him. Pride Flare is his attack, which causes the Sun’s heat to evaporate the entire lake in a matter of seconds.
Escanor arrives at his destination and sees Estarossa with a shroud covered in Darkness. Estarossa compliments Escanor on the attack and says that he would have suffered severe injuries if he hadn’t let out his Darkness a bit later. Estarossa uses Estarossa’s Darkness to heal his wounds and suggests that they finish it. Escanor agrees, but Estarossa covers the damages with Darkness before he can again attack Cruel Sun. Estarossa accuses, claiming that this is over. Escanor questions why Estarossa would say such a thing and retaliates. Estarossa uses Full Counter again. Estarossa concludes that Escanor can’t block his Sun, so his magic power is more significant. Also, he can defend against any physical attack. Escanor must now understand his position.
A scene between Escanor and his son is shown at this point. The herder remarks that there are still over half an hour before noon. That is a sign that Escanor is growing stronger.
Estarossa is suddenly attacked by Escanor, who slashes open his chest. Estarossa was surprised at this comment, noting that Escanor didn’t see his attack and that Escanor has changed his tone. Escanor asks Escanor who decided that Escanor’s attacks couldn’t reach him and who blocked his Sun. Estarossa is stunned by Escanor standing tall over Estarossa, his Sun breaking through the Darkness and growing in size as Escanor’s power skyrockets.
Escanor asserts that he is the only one who can decide what his power are. He orders Estarossa’s death and throws his Cruel Sun at the latter one more time. Zeldris tries to help his brother, but they are both sent flying until they crash into the Ocean.
Aftermath
Escanor starts to consider returning to Liones after sending Zeldris and Estarossa flying. But he decides not to. He states that it’s been a while since he exerted so much energy, and Rhitta can barely contain his power right now. As the lake-bed flames and smokes, Escanor decides to wait until he cools down before he returns.
Meanwhile, in Liones, both Estarossa’s and Zeldris’ commandments are still in force, confirming that neither died in the attack.
Estarossa was trounced in Nanatsu no Taizai by Escanor. Is Estarossa weak?
Estarossa is very strong. Incredibly, he is only behind Zeldris in the Ten Commandments. It is important to note that Escanor’s Grace, “Sunshine”, prevented his Commandment from working in his fight against Escanor. Estarossa was the victor and had more power than Escanor. However, Escanor’s power grows minute by minute, so Escanor eventually outclassed Estarossa, sending him flying with his “Cruel Sun”. Estarossa survived. That is his natural power level without Escanor’s Grace. The Commandment increases the Darkness slightly and adds a curse but does not increase his power like Grace. “Estarossa”, the original holder of “Sunshine,” increases his stats and gives him fucking sunlight. He is comparable to Meliodas Zeldris Ludociel, Zeldris, Ludociel, and Elizabeth, even though he doesn’t live at noon. His natural strength is superior to Zeldris and Meliodas.
Estarossa has learned Admonition from Zeldris and is now able to remove Commandments. He also shows the ability to perform the ritual to absorb Commandments into himself, absorbing the Commandments Truth and Reticence. Estarossa gains more power after absorbing the Truth Commandment. He was able to escape the Domain of God Tarmiel and Sariel used to imprison him. It was impossible for anyone who didn’t have the raw power of two Archangels. Tarmiel was also unable to use Ocean to liquefy him and bypass Sariel’s Tornado. He was able to break off all of Sariel’s bones and briefly ground Tarmiel. Tarmiel was amazed at how much his power grew and said it rivalled Sariel and his combined. His endurance and regeneration are sufficient to quickly regenerate after being broken into pieces or cut in half.
He was able to absorb the Reticence commandment, making him even more powerful. It allowed him to defeat Tarmiel as well as Sariel instantly. King’s attack was not a problem for him. He broke through Diane’s Diamond Shield and simultaneously injured Guila. After being cut to pieces, he was able quickly to slice Sariel and Tarmiel in two. His soul becomes even more warped due to this enormous increase in power. He is not able to defeat Meliodas and Zeldris even when his Estarossa persona is at its highest. But with Sunshine, he can still go toe-to-toe with them, even when they are full power, full Demon mark.
