During Martial Law, there is no restriction for the masses of any country to leave their homeland and move to another country. It is true; Martial Law is an illegal and unlawful act.

The military rule does not allow people to leave the country if they feel secure from all aspects of life. On the other hand, if people think insecure and threatened with any element. If they are at risk of their lives, they can quickly move from one state to another.

The whole matter of leaving the country is entirely dependent on the condition of the state. During Martial laws, the empire is under military control, and the military mainly governs its statutes.

What is Martial Law?

It is the type of Martial Law in which the military assists civil law enforcement. The military does not take absolute control over civil government laws.

Absolute Martial Law

It is the type of Martial Law in which the Army takes control entirely over the civil government. The military makes all new laws and suspends civil government laws, policies, and even constitutions.

Maintain law and order

The first and foremost purpose and reason of Martial law in any country are to maintain its law and order system because it is not in Civil government control. Suppose martial law aims to enhance discipline in haphazard circumstances. It is seen as a positive effect of military rule over the state. On the other hand, martial law aims only to suppress people’s rights and scare them. It is seen from an opposing point of view.

Restore peace

Peace and discipline are the priority of any country to enhance the reputation and progress of the homeland. When conflicts between the government and ordinary people are increased and cross the limits, protests and possessions become common in those countries.

When there is an environment of disturbance and rebellion everywhere, and peace of the civil people is destroyed. Army takes action and holds control of the country to revive calmness in the empire. Sometimes, the situation becomes worst, not in the power of the civil government. In this situation, the military comes before the war and saves the people from more destruction.

Rules and regulations of the Martial Law

Replacement of the new regulations with old rules:

Laws and orders of the military rule are stringent. Iron rule suspends all previous active laws of the government and makes new policies and laws for the people. Every people of the realm have to follow these laws strictly.

Suppose someone does not follow these rules; armed forces punish natives with their policies. No one in the country has the courage to ask questions and point out their oppressiveness.

Deprived of any freedom of opinion

In this type of rule, there is no parliament and scent to discuss masses problems. Nobody presents the opinions of the public in front of the military forces. There is a situation where the public has no rights and cannot disclose their opinion. The rule of the sword decides the rights of the people with its point of view. The Military government exploits the ordinary people.

Restricted to their native country

Curfew is imposed in the empire, and nobody is free to move in the state with his will.

Suppose people want to move from their native country to a foreign country. It is challenging to move from one country to another during Martial Law. A person can only go if he feels insecure under military rule. He takes the judiciary’s permission to take the step of permanent leave the state. This process takes time, and difficult to gain access to this system.

Side effects of the Martial Law

Enhance poverty

During Martial Law, the poverty rate increases, and people become from poor to poorer day by day. There is no defined legal system to run the country because Martial Law is imposed during an emergency. As a result, the condition of the people becomes miserable. The country’s progress moves toward decline.

Long-lasting effects

There are long-lasting and adverse effects of Martial Law on any country. In Martial Law, there is a jirga rule, and it causes terrorism, extremism, and an unstable democratic system. If we take Pakistan as an example, the last Martial Law is imposed by General Zia ul Haq. It lasts for almost ten years, and its side effects are also present today in terrorism, extremism, and an unstable democratic system.

Economy

The economy of the country under army rule is badly crushed. Armed forces do not allow any import and export among counties. The business and trade are almost stopped with foreign countries. This step of military government badly affects the country’s economy and pushes the county into a comprehensive loss. The developing country becomes poor and does not move toward progress due to the illegal rule of the empire. The relationships with foreign countries are also affected badly.
