What is tyranny?

A Tyranny is a government in which the ruler’s behavior with the masses is ruthless and oppressive. They suppress and rule over them without any ordinance. It is the government in which all powers and potential in a single hand of the Emperor misuse these authorities. They exploit the rights of the people and deprive them of fundamental legal rights.

Tyranny, according to Aristotle.

Aristotle is a great philosopher and critic. He has defined the term “tyranny” in his eminent book “Politics” and painted a negative picture of this supremacy. Tyranny comes into existence by power or force. The consequences of tyranny are very detrimental. The “tyrant” uses his powers only to suppress people and evoke fear among people.

Causes of tyranny

The most significant cause of oppression is excess of power. When a single person has much power, he misuses it. He gains this potential by force. The primary purpose is to subdue the poor and weak people. He threatens them by creating fear among society.

When no check and balance is present in society, oppression arises and affects the country. Injustice is a social evil. When it is expected, people are deprived of their legal rights. They even do not dare to ask about their rights. The conditions of the people in these societies become miserable.

Different forms of tyranny

The first way is federalism to save the state from tyranny. It is the process in which government is broken down into two parts: local and central. The state government should be more powerful than the central government.

It is the division of the power from a single person to two different parties. Federalism plays an essential role in fighting and securing people from tyranny. The duties of both local and regimen governments are entirely contrasting.

The duties of the local government are establishing schools, colleges, hospitals, parks, playing grounds, and dealing with people’s affairs like marriages, divorce, and birth.

The responsibilities of the central government are to deal with the government institutes such as the Pak army, navy, airforce, police, and electricity department, and many others.

Separation of Powers

The second way is constitution saves people against tyranny by separating the powers into branches: Legislative, Executive, Judicial.

Legislative branch

The Legislative section is divided into two subsections: Parliament and Senate. These two institutes make policies and laws with discussions. The ministers, chief ministers, head of the senate, and national assembly ponder over the issues of the ordinary person. They update the laws and amend them.

Executive branch

This branch deals with the enforcement of the laws and has the ability and knowledge to fulfill plans and actions. It has two departments: Executive and Cabinet.

Judiciary branch

It is the third subcategory. Judiciary is the most important wing of the government. For the betterment of the country, it should be free from any kind of pressure. The Supreme court, high court, and session court are the subcategory of this branch.

In short, the purpose of separating the powers among the three subcategories is to maintain power equally among them and control tyranny. In this way, every branch has equal power.

Check and balance

The third way to protect the state from tyranny is check and balance. Accountability plays a significant role in controlling tyranny. If check and balance are appropriately regulated, no one branch gain more power than the other. Therefore, tyranny is seized. Each institute is in balance and has equal power.

Duties of the people when tyranny become law

When tyranny becomes law, the people have several responsibilities to resist oppression. The first duty is unity. All oppressed people come together and discuss their issues in meetings. The more intelligent and sensible person has the responsibility to lead the group. They come into roads, do processions, and strike and exert pressure on the tyrant people. When people become one, their power is more than the tyrant’s power. It is also helpful to halt the oppression of tyrants.

People should renounce accepting any illegal terms of the government. Presents their demands before the higher authority and compels them to think over them. Don’t compromise and never give up on their terms. People should exert more pressure on the government to enhance the importance and validity of their terms and conditions.

The government and civil servants leave their job and duties. They deny working with these institutes in such a form of oppression. When the atmosphere of anxiety and disturbance is present everywhere, the government will stop these disorganizations from the state.

Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God.

Rebellion is necessary against tyranny and oppression. There are many examples of exploitation all over the world. Recently, suppression has reached extreme limits in Kashmir and other Islamic countries. The cruelty of India is religious, racial, status, social, and class differences against the Muslims.

Indians people become very extremist and oppressed. In such situations, it is crucial to raise a voice against oppression. It is not a sin to defend their people and demand from the government their rights. Rebellion against tyranny is like obedience to God.
